We have to be careful when pursuing through social media. It will have us lusting after people and things, which can became a drug! We become obsessed with this look, this person, this thing. We become infatuated with it. Lustful thoughts are dangerous because they are extremely selfish. Lust is not worried about who it hurts or anything, it just wants however much it wants ASAP! We have to protect our hearts from this type of energy because it will cause us many unhealthy relationships, many costly decisions, and character will begin to diminish. In other words, we would be taking backwards steps instead of going forward to fulfill our purpose. So go forward from here thinking more openly about various things. Don't fall in love with everything a face value, wanting it for the wrong reasons. Decrease the time you spend scrolling on social media. Also, even if you think the lustful thought, that doesn't mean that you have to do it!
Cole is falling in love through a picture on social media. He does not know anything about this woman, but he's feeling a drawing to or emotion towards her through her image. That doesn't sound like Love; it sounds a lot like Lust. Love is created from knowing, understanding, spending time with, or going through something with someone. Lust is an overwhelming desiring or craving for someone. It's created when we focus on the appearance of people and even the character, but we want them for the wrong reasons, whether it be personal gain, ill-intent, or just being aesthetically pleased by their looks. It can fall into the same category as infatuation, a short-lived desire for someone you admire. To sum this up, he says "Love today's gone digital, and it's messing with my health" What is the digital love he is referring to you ask? Lust. Social media is the seat for Lust. We like each others posts based on appearance ... the person with the most likes is held as the model for everybody else. So everybody else is left to lust after this image that has been held worthy of accepting. This proves to be unhealthy. We spend countless hours on social media a day, seeing images and affirmation, and subconsciously we could be lusting after what we are seeing. Kids on Drugs. The drug is social media and acceptance.
